Halls Aster
Symphyotrichum hallii
About this plant
Symphyotrichum hallii
Type: Perennial · Family: Asteraceae
Hall's Aster is the ideal plant for drier, sunnier conditions that would scorch other Asters. Hall's Aster is distinguished by it's relatively low growth habit, slower growth rate, and much lower water needs compared to others in their genus. This lends Hall's Aster a fair amount of ecological flexibility, and on the land you can find them in dry lowland forests, White Oak savannahs, and dry meadows. Hall's Aster doesn't struggle much in an urban heat island, and does well as a hellstrip plant as well.
