Small, mouth like red flowers are a vital nectar source for bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies - including Chalcedon Checkerspot and Common Buckeyes. Figwort is typically at home in dry oak understories & hilly chaparral, but may form dense searching mats with excess moisture.
