She may look like a Dandelion, but don't be fooled! Agoseris grandiflora is a gregarious pollinator friend built for tough times. California Dandelion's immense tap root makes her an ideal candidate for hellstrips + rock gardens, and offers a precious mid-late summer nectar source for a wide variety of native bees. The reward for pollination are tennis ball sized seed puffs, which make adorable pressed flowers + bouquets. Though more common in Southern Oregon and the Eastern Cascades, this drought tolerant survivor is well at home in urban heat islands.
